Assignment Rules
Arrivals shall be assigned the STAR in accordance with the tables below, as per the approach expectations on the ATIS.

These standard runway assignments may be modified strategically by the AD TCU or AFL controller.
Note
Aircraft tracking via OJJAY and MARGO (ie J251 WHA H84 MARGO) from the North for Runway 23 shall be assigned the RAYNA STAR with the OJJAY transition (not the BUGSU STAR with the MARGO transition)
vatSys will not necessarily select the correct STAR by default when entering the runway, so ensure the correct STAR is selected.
All Jets shall be assigned the Runway 05 Zulu STAR, or Runway 23 Alpha STAR.

Sequencing
Sequencing arrivals into YPAD is a joint responsibility of AUG and TBD: AUG is responsible for aircraft arriving from the west, TBD is responsible for aircraft arriving from the east.
Adjacent Feeder Fixes
Aircraft assigned the same runway inbound via:
- MARGO and AGROS
- ERITH and KLAVA
Must be considered to be on the same STAR for sequencing purposes. That is, they must be at least 2 minutes apart at their respective Feeder fixes.

Tip

Local Procedures
Special Use Airspace
There are multiple volumes of SUA within TBD airspace, mostly associated with military operations in and out of YPED.
AD TCU must give heads up coordination with the relevant enroute controllers prior to any departures intending to operate in a currently inactive SUA.
Phraseology
AAW -> AUG: "On the groud YPED, STKR11, requests activation of R265A-F SFC-F450, from 0300 until 0500.”
AUG -> AAW: "STKR11, expect activation of R265A-F SFC-F450 at 0300 until 0500."
AAW -> AUG: "STKR11."
Non-participating aircraft intending to transit an activated SUA should be rerouted, where possible, subject to the VATSIM Code of Conduct.
M201 Adelaide
The M201 Adelaide MOA is located off the coast, SFC-F600 within TBD and ASP(FOR) airspace.
Affected Civil Operations
When activated the MOA disrupts traffic on the T131, Q46, Q22, and Q158 high altitude airways, which connect YMML to Western Australia. Aircraft travelling on these airways should be manually rerouted around the SUA.
R265A-F Edinburgh
The R265A-F Edinburgh restricted areas are located north of the AD TMA, SFC-NOTAM.
Affected Civil Operations
When activated the restricted area disrupts traffic on the H135 and H246 airways, which connect the AD TMA to airports in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Note
Aircraft tracking via a recommended rerouting must still be separated from the SUA laterally and vertically. After amending flight plans for the purposes of rerouting around SUA, controllers should ensure the route is displayed visually and the BRL is used to measure for >2.5nm clearance with all parts of the SUA.
R279 Edinburgh
The R279 Edinburgh restricted area is located overwater in Gulf St Vincent, SFC-F250, spanning AD TCU, AUG, and TBD airspace. Activation of R279 Edinburgh is a shared responsibility, and AD TCU, AUG, and TBD must coordinate before activation.
Affected Civil Operations
When activated the restricted area disrupts traffic on the V175 low altitude airway, which connects Kangaroo Island to YPAD. Aircraft travelling on this airways should be separated from the SUA, easily achieved by clearing the aircraft direct ELROX.
Cultana SUAs
There are multiple volumes of SUA in the Port Augusta area associated with military flying activities, including:

These SUAs are collectively referred to as Cultana.
Affected Civil Operations
When activated the restricted area disrupts traffic planned via WHA on any airway, as well as traffic in and out of Port Augusta (YPAG).
Aircraft travelling between YPAG and Whyalla (YWHA) should be rerouted via LATAP NODOL ELMEP SAMIN, as necessary.

The Vertical limits of the AD TCU are SFC to F245.

All other aircraft going to TBD CTA will be Heads-up Coordinated by AD TCU.
Enroute
